Three Injured In Collision

[CAPE TOWN – 22 JANUARY 2012 AT 19H00]

Three people have sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling in lost control and went into a ditch on Klapmuts Road between Paarl and Stellenbosch this evening.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene within minutes and found the vehicle in the ditch, with all three occupants still inside the vehicle. The occupants where entrapped and need the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic equipment to stabilise the vehicle and extricate them safely. The three were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.

It is believed the driver lost control and struck a pole before crashing into the ditch just off the road. The local authorities were on the scene and would investigate the accident.
