With a journalism degree from Rhodes University and a lifelong obsession with current affairs, I consider myself one of the few lucky individuals who get to do what they love for a salary. Living my life with optimism and a passion for knowledge, I have a serious jones for writing, editing, politics, baking, reading, horse-riding, karaoke and (due to specialising in radio during my degree) sound engineering. Understandably, I don’t really get out much. But when I do, I thoroughly enjoy provoking innocent observers into arguments that they cannot possibly win. I am also perfectly capable of spending hours online browsing news websites, interspersed with the occasional visit to Cracked.com. After spending some post-university time with a small public relations agency and a commercial recording studio, I joined the Updates team in 2011. My work ethic is centred on providing Media Update, Publicity Update and Totally MAd readers with content that is fresh, interesting and relevant to the various industries – but I can never resist the opportunity to take an unconventional perspective on the trends and issues we deal with on a daily basis
