Colgate Scholarship – do you want R70 000 towards your child’s education?

Colgate has announced the launch of its scholarship campaign in South Africa, whereby 10 school children stand a chance to have R10 000 paid towards their school tuition for seven years. Essentially, each child will receive R70 000 over a seven year period.

In a country where the education system is frequently under scrutiny due to lack of resources and infrastructure, many schools are not equipped to provide children with quality education. Furthermore, school fees are continually rising and the economy is not growing – South Africans are feeling the pinch. Therefore, by giving children an opportunity to go to a better resourced school, their chances of achieving greater things in life are significantly increased. 

 

Colgate South Africa has been committed to education for 23 years through its Bright Smiles, Bright Futures ™ (BSBF) initiative.  Over the years, BSBF has reached more than 10 million school children across South Africa with oral health education, thereby instilling a habit of brushing teeth from a young age.  Through the scholarship competition, Colgate can contribute to the community and help in the development of potential future leaders of this country.

 

The competition is being run on USSD – to enter, dial *120*2676# and follow the prompts.  Competition entries were opened on 24 July 2017 and will close on 30 September 2017.  Entries are pouring in and the first two winners were announced on 14 August 2017. They are Cadence Naidoo, 7 years old, from Strand, Cape Town and Sbulelo Ntloko, 9 years old, from Benoni, Gauteng.

One winner is drawn weekly and will be announced via Facebook and selected print media. In addition, Colgate will select winner stories to be filmed and broadcast on television, and shared on social media.
